With schools around the United Kingdom closed to most students it is important every child has access to engaging maths lessons through distance learning.

Distance Learning with Mr Mathematics

Mr Mathematics’ lessons are an ideal resource for distance learning for parents, teachers and schools:

  • All lessons follow the U.K. national curriculum across the age and ability range from Year 7 to the end of Year 11.
  • Solutions to every lesson and worksheet are provided and there are over 180 video tutorials that model the key concepts of a lesson, with more being added on a regular basis.

Mathematics Lesson Structure

The lessons on Mr Mathematics are broken down into four key parts.

  • Starter activity that recaps prior learning.
  • Main teaching phase that teaches the main learning objective through carefully scaffolded questions.
  • Consolidation phase where students work independently to practice the skills they have been taught.
  • Summary where students extend and connect their learning to other aspects of the curriculum.

Lessons also include a differentiated worksheet for further practice and consolidation.

Finding the right lesson

Parents can find the lesson they need on the Lessons page by selecting the relevant year group and topic.  All lessons and worksheets are available online without the need for printing work out.

Teachers can set a sequence of lessons on Google Classroom, Moodle or Microsoft Teams by using the Schemes of Work page.  Simply copy the link to the relevant lesson sequence into the virtual classroom.
