Converting Between Metric Units

Students learn how to convert between metric measures of length, weight and capacity using standard conversion factors.

Later, as learning progresses, they are challenged to order a range of measurements given as different units.

Differentiated Learning Objectives
  • All students should be able to use the place value table to convert between mm and cm.
  • Most students should be able to convert between milli, cent and Kilo.
  • Some students should be able to know by mental recall the conversions for all metric units
