              Plotting Linear Inequalities

Students learn how to plot and calculate linear inequalities on a Cartesian axes.  As learning progresses they are challenged to identify regions on a grid using sets. The start of lesson reminds students about the gradient and intercept properties of linear functions.   The plenary challenges students to identify and describe a set of inequalities around a specific region.
              Differentiated Learning Objectives
              • All students should be able to plot and describe an inequality in the form y = a, x = a.
              • Most students should be able to plot a linear equality on Cartesian axes.
              • Some students should be able to plot and describe linear inequalities on Cartesian axes.
