              Quadratic Equations with Algebraic Fractions

Students learn how to solve quadratic equations arising from algebraic fractions.  Later, as learning progresses they solve equations with quadratic equations in the form ax2 +bx + c = 0 using the formula.
              Differentiated Learning Objectives
              • All students should be able to set up a quadratic equation in the form x2 +bx + c = 0 from a pair of algebraic fractions.
              • Most students should be able to set up and solve a quadratic equation in the form x2 + bx + c = 0 from a pair of algebraic fractions.
              • Some students should be able to set up and solve a quadratic equation in the form ax2 + bx + c = 0 from a pair of algebraic fractions.

How to Draw a Venn Diagram to Calculate Probabilities

There are three common ways to organise data that fall into multiple sets: two-way tables, frequency diagrams and Venn diagrams.  Having blogged about frequency diagrams before I thought I would write about how to draw a Venn Diagram to calculate probabilities. Recapping Two-Way Tables This activity works well to review two-way tables from the previous […]
