              When simplifying algebraic fractions students first need to be able to factorise and expand linear as well as quadratic expressions.  The fractions begin with simple linear terms and advances to factorising quadratics using the difference of two squares.
              Differentiated Learning Objectives
              • All students should be able to simplify an algebraic fraction involving linear terms.
              • Most students should be able to simplify algebraic fractions involving linear and quadratic terms in the form ax2+bx+c where a equals one by factorising.
              • Some students should be able to simplify algebraic fractions involving quadratics in the form ax2+bx+c where a does not equal one.
