              Stretching Functions

Students learn how to transform a graph through a horizontal stretch in the form f(ax) or vertical stretch in the form a(fx).  As learning progresses they learn how to describe transformations using the correct function notation.
              Differentiated Learning Objectives
              • All students should be able to use function notation to perform a horizontal and vertical stretch.
              • Most students should be able to use function notation to perform a horizontal and vertwical stretch and reflection.
              • Some students should be able to calculate the transformed coordinate pairs using function notation.
