November Updates: Welcome back + targeted revision resources for Year 11 mocks

Welcome back from the half-term break! As we head into a new term, many Year 11 students will be ramping up their preparation for mock exams. To support you and your classes, there are two flexible ways to access revision lessons to add to your schemes of work.

1) Revision by topic (past exam questions, organised by topic)

  • Browse ready-to-use lessons built from past exam questions, grouped by topic to target specific gaps and misconceptions.
  • Ideal for intervention sessions, targeted homework, and focused retrieval practice.
  • Explore the full catalogue here: Revision Lessons by Topic

2) Revision by target grade (graded question sets)

  • Access lessons mapped by target grade so you can tailor practice to Foundation or Higher students and differentiate within the same class.
  • Great for tracking progress and scaffolding confidence towards higher-demand questions.

New: Interactive random question generators in lesson blogs

I’m now including interactive random question generators within lesson blogs to help with quick-fire practice, retrieval, and on-the-fly assessment. I find these work best with mini-whiteboards so you can check whole-class understanding in real time and adapt pacing on the spot.

Tips for using the generators:

  • Project a question, set a 30–60 second timer, and have students respond on mini-whiteboards.
  • Cold-call 2–3 students to narrate solution steps before revealing the model answer.
  • Repeat with a new random question to reinforce the method or to vary the context (particularly useful for rate, ratio, and percentage problems).
  • Use exit questions from the generator for quick formative assessment.

New Retrieval Tasks

The fourth set of retrieval tasks for years 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 Foundation and 11 Higher are now live. Click here to view.
